Limetree Gallery

Lime Tree Gallery
Hall Street, Long Melford CO10 9JF
October 14–November 7: Light Trail, Solo Exhibition by Peter Wileman FROI, RSMA, FRSA. Peter Wileman is one of the UK’s leading contemporary painters. He is a Past President and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, a Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Peter’s style is bold and vigorous, both in the use of colour and handling of paint, as he explores the effect of light on his subject. Seeking atmosphere through light and colour, he works in varying degrees of abstraction. In this exhibition, ‘Light Trail’, Peter has focussed much of his attention on our beautiful Suffolk coast, with his interpretations of many of our favourite places ranging from Pin Mill up to Walberswick, via Woodbridge and other points in between. Painting the Light in Oils DVD released in 2008 by Townhouse Films; Inspirational Oil Landscapes DVD released in 2010 by Townhouse Films and ‘Painting Light in Oils’, a book published by Anova, 2011. Peter will be present in the gallery from 11.00am–15.00pm on Saturday October 14.
